The record for the largest mobile jackpot win was broken last week after a player from the UK won £4.5m (€5.8m or $6.3m) on the Jackpot Giant slot.
The Glaswegian winner was playing at the Playtech-powered Gala Bingo website on her Android Galaxy S5 and had only wagered £4 before scooping this enormous win.
“I picked up my mobile and started playing while I was watching TV,” the winner said. “Minutes later I saw a huge string of numbers coming up and realised I’d hit the jackpot. I was simply blown away and couldn’t believe I’d won. It’s still sinking in and my family and I are still in a complete state of shock,” said the winner.
Gamingslots recently reported that Jackpot Giant had pushed through the £4m mark and looked ready to be taken down, but we couldn’t have predicted just how quickly that was going to happen.
The Scottish winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is a librarian and has decided to continue working full time. She seemed unfazed by the huge win she had amassed and preferred to keep her full time job instead of living the high life.
