Gauselmann, parent company of Merkur Gaming, has withdrawn their games from the lucrative German market with immediate effect. Online casinos such as Sunmaker, Stake7 and PlaySunny will no longer be able to offer slots such as Magic Mirror Deluxe, Knights Life and Voyage of Discovery to German players.

The move is a big blow to all involved, as the German market is by far the most popular for these games, with many Merkur-built games played everyday in land-based casinos and arcades throughout Germany. However, Gauselmann’s German gaming license prohibits them from offering their games for real money play online.

Merkur slots will still be available to online players in other regulated markets such as UK and other parts of Europe, but German online players will not have access to these games for the foreseeable future. The withdrawal does not effect games built in partnership with Reel Time Gaming, which include El Torero, Wishing Well and Fishin Frenzy.
