A player on one of IGT’s MegaJackpot slots has wiped away those January blues with a single spin by bagging himself a whopping £1,247,400 (€1,415,698 or $1,754,565) progressive jackpot win.
Details of the winner and where the win took place have not been released by IGT yet, but the jackpot was won on this weekend as the jackpot was re-set to its seed level of £500,000.
IGT’s MegaJackpots is the principle online progressive jackpot for the Las-Vegas based company and is networked through several online casinos on popular jackpot slots such as Isle O’ Plenty, Cleopatra and Siberian Storm. The average payout for MegaJackpots is £840,000, so this latest win is certainly a lot higher than normal. However, it falls short of the biggest win to date of £2.1m back in September 2013.
Most of the time this jackpot has been in existence the payout method was done in installments over a period of 20 years. However, player power and negative publicity has meant that IGT have changed the jackpot payout to one large lump sum for the full jackpot total. Good news for our latest winner, that’s for sure!
