Big Vegas slot review

Big Vegas SlotIf two things go together like Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr, Siegfried & Roy, and the Vegas Strip & mobility scooters, it's Sin City and Bally Technologies.

Developer of some of Vegas's most popular land-based slots, their portfolio of online video slots, including the Mayan civilization-themed Mayan Treasures and the Arctic treat that is Wild Huskies, have proved just as popular, if not quite reaching the technical heights of their rivals' various 3D offerings.

Vegas Baby!

Going back to the 'hometown', Bally's Big Vegas slot sees you in the midst of The Strip staring at bright lights and pavements of gold. It's a 5 reel slot with 40 paylines, so there's scope for some more wins, but in terms of graphics it's the usual Bally story: drab-looking 10-through-Ace symbols, dice, a few piles of cash, chips and cocktails, and a Royal Flush poker hand icon.

It's All About the Directional Wild

The regular 'Wild' symbol substitutes for all symbols other than the Directional Wild and Free Games Lounge symbols. However, it's this Directional Wild that can really pay.

Appearing on reels 2 and 4, the roulette wheel spins and depending upon which direction the wheel is pointing in, it will turn all reel symbols across that line Wild. For example, if a Directional Wild spins and points right, every symbol to the right of it also turns Wild. It means you can get some mega wins pretty easily.

Win 5 Free Spins in the Free Games Lounge Bonus

Three scattered Free Games Lounge symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 triggers the Free Games feature where 5 free games are up for grabs carrying a 3x multiplier. The Directional Wild can be triggered during these bonus spins, so your wins can really add up.

Our View...

I normally start off reviewing Bally slots getting angry at the simplistic graphics and lazy sound FX. However, it's when you play the various bonus games on offer that you realize Bally are all about the Wilds and fast, frantic gameplay. They're not out to remake Thunderstruck 2, and I guess they should be applauded for that.
