Unlike those games though you get a standard 5x3 grid and the theme is Ancient Greek Mythology so it will come as no surprise the reels are set over an Acropolis style temple although the reels spin silently with the traditional trotting sound as they stop, except when the slow spin is in play which we will hear about shortly. Poseidon was Greek God of The Ocean, so will our bankroll stay afloat or be washed away with the waves?

As said the grid is the standard format of 5 reels of 3 rows each and we have 25 paying lines in play. The icons are single usually but each spin one picture symbol (not the Wild) is selected as a colossal 3x3 icon which will spin round on the centre 3 reels. There are single Wilds on all reels in the form of the Temple the game is set against and they don't multiply. Poseidon is top pay at a mere 100 coins (4x bet) for a 5-of-a-kind followed by the Helmet at 80, Vase 70, Lyre and Horn 60 with the five card values present each paying 50 or 40 coins.
Colossal spins
Now we come to the reason for the low 5-of-a-kind pays. The icons aside from the Colossal one each spin are always single with the exception of reels 1 and 5 on which the same symbol as the Colossal one chosen, is stacked. This is to ensure you can have the possibility of a full screen of a picture symbol each spin. Even if you get it, 100x is rather pathetic which it would be for Poseidon, the best one. Now when a Wild or a symbol(s) matching the Colossal one appears on reel 1 you get a slowed spin with dramatic epic film-style music to see if the Colossal lands fully or partly in view. Wow.
Free games
There is on some spins a Colossal Gold Coin scatter on reels 2, 3 and 4. You need to land this fully in view so all 9 tiles appear to get 10 free games. Before they start one of the 5 top symbols is chosen as the Colossal symbol that will be on the reels for every spin. You can't retrigger them.

Almighty Reels Realm of Poseidon slot is quite honestly about the worst Novomatic slot I ever played. It looks aesthetically fine but that's where the positives end - the game win frequency is low, the potential pays absolutely terrible and you can tell after playing it for five minutes when the slow spin is actually going to match the first reel to any part of the Colossal symbol. It's simply a tedious and joyless experience, the free spins are awful in format and you would need to have the selected icon as Poseidon and get a full screen every spin to get 1000x which obviously wouldn't happen. So it's a low-potential and volatility slot which plays like a higher-volatility one in the base game. God only knows how Novomatic managed this double whammy and along with a sub-mediocre 95.08% RTP I sincerely hope Poseidon drowns this creation under the biggest tidal wave he can manage...
