Robocop slot

Robocop slot review

robocop slot main gameRobocop slot is a trademarked game based upon the 1987 Cyberpunk action film starring Ronny Cox, Nancy Allena and Peter Weller who plays the Detroit cop murdered and brought back to life as a Cyborg Law Enforcer to take on the drug gangs. By the way, we have already had one attempt at a Robocop slot, with Electrocade's version from a few years ago. This particular title is made by Playtech, who have a number of movie-themed slots, such as Superman The Movie and Rocky to name a few. The reels are set against the Detroit skyline and the music and sound effects are naturally from the movie too. So will the Cybercop 'serve and protect' your bankroll?

Robo reels

We get 25 pay lines over a standard grid of 5 reels of 3 rows each. the symbols are single and the Wilds are the top pay at 100x bet for the 5-of-a-kind followed by Robocop himself at 40x bet. Nancy and Ronny are next at 30 and 20x respectively and the pistol and cop car make the last 2 picture symbols at 10 and 4x bet for the 5. The remaining icons are the usual card values paying around 3x stake. Robocop's Gold Badge is the game's scatter of which you need one on reels 1, 3 and 5 to trigger the bonuses.

Luckily Robocop grants us a taste of all 4 features on occasion just for one spin - the reels blur and you will find one of these 4 in-play enhancements granted:

Shootout Spin - Wild symbols are dispersed onto the reels in random positions.

Robot Attack Spin - the ED-209 Cyborg giant 3x3 block Wild is added to the middle reels and will land with at least one row showing.

Line Up Spin - each winning line will have 2 different multipliers applied as one appears adjacent to each row at both ends of the screen off the reels.

OCP Bonus - a pick round where symbols have a predetermined prize and the first to be picked 3 times is paid - you can pick a hidden 2x multiplier and a Wild which adds one of each symbol you are collecting.

Cyborg bonuses

Once you've landed the 3 Robocop Gold Badges on 1, 3 and 5 you get a block of 5 choices. You can pick any of 4 bonuses of which 3 are free games and one is an enhanced version of the OCP Bonus described above. For some reason you get a '?' which means the game picks one of the 4 for you, why I do not know! The 4 choices are the same as the above in-play features. You can't retrigger any.

Shootout Free Games - 10 spins with random Wilds on every one.

Robot Attack Free Games - 5 spins with the colossal 3x3 block Cyborg Wild for each on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Line Up Free Games - 15 spins with the multipliers available each end of the rows to apply 2 of them to any winning line(s).

OCP Bonus - this simply becomes OCP 'Megabonus' as all wins are multiplied by 5 and the 2x multiplier is still available in the picks too.

Our View...

Robocop is entertaining, especially if you liked the movie as you'll be familiar with the actors, their characters and the music too. A decent RTP of 96% and smooth but not over-detailed graphics makes the minutes go by easily enough as do the regular base game wins. The volatility isn't that high as so the big-win potential is limited although you could make well over 1000x bet if the Shootout Spin(s) added enough Wilds to the reels. How much loot do you think will Robocop let you escape Detroit with?
