Starz Megaways slot by Pragmatic Play is their second Megaways game after Great Rhino and I have to say it's pretty basic. It's themed on a combination of Netent's Starburst slot for the mechanic and their Big Bang slot for the graphics and symbols. So we have an astronomy theme here with semi-transparent reels over a pale Sun with stars in the background and cheap synthesized music and sounds as we play. So will we have a stellar result here for our bankroll, or find a black hole?
On The Reels...
You get 6 reels of 2 to 7 symbols meaning 64 to 117649-ways per spin on Starz Megaways slot. There are expanding Wilds on the centre 4 reels which means they multiply wins 2 to 7x depending on the symbol amount the reel lands with. The symbols themselves appear stacked and singly paying both left-to-right and right-to-left. Pays are therefore low for 6-of-a-kind wins in relation to our 20-coin bet. Green gem is 12.5x, Purple 5x, Red 3.75x, Blue or Pink 3x with five Planets paying either 2.5 or 2x for all 6. There are Sun bonus scatters on all reels too.

You can guess the mechanic, the Wilds expand and remain sticky throughout the bonus. This is all well and good but if they come in on merely 2 or 3-row reels then you're stuck with low multipliers throughout. Pragmatic tell us though that 10,000x bet is possible in the base game and free spins which is one third of the maximum pay which would be 4x 7-row Wild reels with the top 12.5x Gem either end for 30,012x bet. So you are capped at 10,000x bet whatever.
Our View...
Despite its simplicity and obvious inspiration from other slots, with a 96.48% RTP and high potential, Starz Megaways slot isn't too bad to play. Kind of like Starburst on steroids. The graphics, sounds and animations are pretty mediocre but there is some entertainment to be had here with the free spins not as rare as they are on most Megaways slots. It will hardly have Big Time Gaming quaking in their boots, but nevertheless it may be worth the intergalactic journey...
