The Catfather slot review
The Catfather slot by Pragmatic Play is a weird game but has a slightly familiar theme. A luxury lounge sits behind the reels for our feline friends and we get jaunty cartoon music and miaows as the game spins and lands certain wins. Microgaming used the idea of animal parentage with their old Dogfather slot, then we saw Nextgen's rather fishy slot The Codfather but don't worry, there are humans too if you see Betsoft's the Slotfather 2 for example! So can we get the cream for our bankroll here or will it be shredded and used in the litter tray?
On the reels...
You have single symbols on The Catfather slot and 5 reels of 3 rows with only 9 pay lines. They do pay both ways though from right-to-left too. The 5-of-a-kind pays are best expressed in coins as we pay an odd 9-coins to play. Wilds pay 5000 coins, Ginger Cat 200, Blue Cat 100, Sunglasses Cat 70, Siamese Cat 35, Orange Cat 30 with three card values paying 25, 20 and 15 coins high to low. You can get a random stacked Wilds feature where any amount or combination of the middle 3 reels can turn into them, and they won't affect any scatters underneath.
If you see 3, 4 or 5 Mouse scatters you win 10, 15 or 25 free games respectively. They can retrigger in the same amounts and you get a 4x multiplier applied to the round. Alas, you cannot get the random stacked Wilds feature during this bonus.
The Catfather slot has a RTP of 96.45% and does have the potential to pay a couple of thousand times bet but it's highly unlikely you would see it, even if you get over 500x for a full line of Wilds here. The music is irritating after a while and the silly way the reels stop is too - the outside two reels first, then 2 and 4 and finally the middle reel. You can get some decent hits in the free games but again that would be unlikely and the base game is poor. I am shoving this through my cat flap then locking it afterwards...Review by Gamingslots
