Fruit Blox slot review
Fruit Blox slot definitely proves that Red Tiger have caught on fast to the big reels multiways format, especially as it's been released on the back of Laser Fruit and Dragon's Luck Stacks with Red Tiger seeming to be present at more and more casinos nowadays. There is rather an odd format to the game as we'll shortly discover but aesthetically it's quite basic to look at with the trademark Red Tiger sounds for the reels stops and retro-symbols making up the grid. So far quite unexciting, but is there a chance we can build upwards with these blox to increase our bankroll or will it all come crashing down around our ears?
On the reels...
You will instantly observe there are actually 6 reels here of 4 rows each so may be expecting a Raging Rhino-style 4096-ways game. Above I stated that the format is 'odd' and now you'll see why - you don't get multiways and you don't get pay lines either! What you do get are 'connected ways' which means something in between in that you need icons to be on consecutive reels from the left but they only pay if adjacent and not if they aren't touching, or only touching diagonally. So if 3 or more reels have icon stacks on which touch fully on at least one side of one tile you get paid for all the ways through.
The symbols are retro-style with 6-of-a-kind being the highest - 7's pay 10x for this full 'connected way', Stars 8x, Bells 7x, Bars 6x with Grapes, Plum, Orange, Lemon and Cherry awarding from 5x down to 2x for a full 6.
On any spin some symbols will appear as 2x2 or 3x3 blocks and if they do they double any wins they form. The free spins icon also appears as a Mega Tile and you get a huge clue if they are on the reels on any spin as the reels will blur, make a dramatic sound and you will usually (but not always) see a trigger for the bonus!
If any part of a free spins Mega Tile appears in view you will get awarded either 1 or 2 spins for each single position. They usually appear in 2's or 3's though and each block may award different amounts depending on whether they are adjacent too. So say you get a full block of 2x2 in view on reels 1 and 2 and you see a full 3x3 block on reels 3, 4 and 5 these will give two spins each as at least one will be adjacent between reels 2 and 3 thus giving 26 free games, 2 for each single tile. Non-adjacent ones only award 1 free spin per tile. You can retrigger them in the same fashion.
Fruit Blox slot is nothing exciting to look at but has the potential to pay up to 10,000x bet with Mega Tiles of 7's appearing in the right places on the grid. It may seem a bit odd getting matching fruits on the first 3 reels and sometimes not being paid as they aren't adjacent but you quite quickly get used to it. The free games aren't too hard to trigger and you usually get a decent amount although many of them will be dead spins. The RTP is a creditable 96.23% and the volatility in the base game isn't bad with plenty of wins to maintain your balance but I will tell you without doubt you'll be lucky to see any win of over 50x, even in the free games. People won't be queuing around the blox to play this one I am afraid...
