Hypernova Megaways slot summary

The background is a spectacular supernova which looks like it could have been imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope and is similar to that we see on Netent's astronomic Big Bang game, as is the gentle music playing when the game is opened. We don't get a trademarked theme as with Microgaming's Battlestar Galactica but the graphics are just as shiny and also in high definition, so a great start on the presentation side. On The Reels...
We start with the classic and most-used Megaways configuration here, the 6-reel grid with a scroll of 4 single symbols above the centre 4 reels with 2 to 7 symbols randomly assigned to each one. This results in 324 - 117,649 ways possible per spin, which naturally means stacked symbols are present. You pay 20 coins per spin and single Wilds may only appear on the scrolling reel above. The 6-of-a-kind wins are higher for the top symbol, the diamond, than you may be used to on other games where the maximum is 50 bet - here it is 100x! The rest are pretty par for Megaways with 5x Ruby, 2.5x Emerald, 2x Sapphire and six card values descending form 1.2x to 0.5x for a full way.
Any winning symbols will disappear in cosmic explosions and new ones replace them from above in the classic cascading format. The scatters here are burning stars and can appear in stacks too and will trigger our only feature as there are no modifiers on Hypernova Megaways slot.
Jackpot Respins
The scatters here always reveal a cash multiplier when landing on the grid but this is meaningless unless you see enough of them to trigger the jackpot respins, in this case 6 or more. If you do, those cash values will be given, but there are now 3 respins with extra jackpot scatters added to the reels. You have fixed jackpot amounts of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze for 2000x bet, 250x, 50x and 10x bet respectively. There is no scale here, for example 10-12 scatters awards the Bronze Jackpot, but each scatter reveals a cash amount or a trophy of the various colours described. You can win the Silver and Bronze trophies and jackpot amounts more than once, but not Gold or Platinum.
Our View...
Hypernova Megaways slot isn't a bad first attempt by ReelPlay at Megaways by any means, but many slots offer this respin game alongside a separate free games feature, not as a stand-alone. Those 4 jackpots are not an original idea as Kalamba games tend to use that feature on most of their slots lately, including their own Megaways slot, Machina. You do get a bright and pleasant slot to play with a reasonable 96.10% RTP and there is the potential for some big base game hits if you can pull off a few ways of 6 Diamonds. I guess many players will miss the excitement of an increasing multiplier type bonus here, but then again if those Gold and Platinum trophies appear for you...
