Megaways Giant's Gold slot by StakeLogic is their best Megaways game yet as it doesn't use the old retro style games such as their previous editions tend to. These include the basic Super Wild Megaways slot although they made a more classy production with The Expendables Megaways slot. This fact is perhaps down to Touchstone Gaming designing this for their platform instead. We get a giant's castle as the backdrop here with classical music and swishing sound effects as the symbols stop and despite the theme, it certainly doesn't look childish. So can we see some giant raises for our bankroll here or will it be no gold today?
On the reels...
We begin on Megaways Giant's Gold slot with 6 reels of 2-7 symbols each and a top row of 4 symbols, therefore getting 324-117649-ways to win. Symbols can appear stacked and the 6-of-a-kind pays are identical to those of Bonanza slot or Blueprint's copy which is Diamond Mine slot. We get 50x stake Giant, 7.5x Chest, 2x Goblet or Coin Bag with six card values paying 1.75x Ace down to 08x 9's. Your Free Spin or Bonus scatters can appear on all reels but the Wild only lands on the top scroll. It will however remain sticky until it's used in a win! You can play a special doubled stake for a better chance of the features as in both cases you only require 3 scatters when paying the surcharge. Your modifier in the base game is quite good - an increasing multiplier via every winning tumble within the spin.
Egg Collector Feature
You need 4 Egg Bonus Scatters for this (unless you've played the Super Stake whereas it's 3) and it's a round quite like that of Money Train 2 slot. You get stake multipliers on the triggering Eggs which sink to the bottom of the reels, which are sized in rows according to when you triggered. You get 3 re-spins, resetting each time any further Eggs land. There are 2 special ones - a Collector Egg which sucks in all the values presently in view and an Adder Egg which has a multiplier which is then sent to top up every other Egg present. If you fill a reel it will open up another position at the top and so-on until it reaches the maximum 7-high. Should you fill all 6 reels to 7-high the round stops and you get 10,000x stake. Otherwise, the combined Egg multipliers are paid once you've added no Eggs for 3 consecutive spins.
You need 4 free spin scatters or again 3 only if using the Super Stake. That awards 12 free spins with +3 for each scatter over the 3 or 4. You can retrigger them too in the same way. Wilds are sticky on the top scrolling reel until used in a win, the same as in the base game plus any multiplier you had on the triggering spin is carried over to begin the round. There's a 1x increasing multiplier for each winning tumble, no limit. Afterwards, any unused Wilds will be retained for the base game.
Megaways Giant's Gold slot has a 96.00% RTP and I think it's a very decent Megaways, unlike many of late. You can hit some nice wins in the base game which is comfortable to play due to the soft graphics, music and animations. Unlike some dual-bonus slots, both of these rounds here have serious potential and are quite fun to observe too. You have to wait a while for 4 scatters if playing the basic stake and not Super Bet but they both seem to have quite a high average pay so are usually worth it. I think this giant has indeed provided some gold for the current Megaways catalogue...
