arcader slot gameArcader slot revisits 1980's PC graphics with its low-pixel icons and graphics plus sounds you would hear on basic home computer or arcade games from that era. There seems to be a renaissance of this period lately with Flame Busters by the same developer and Pariplay's Atari Asteroids both paying tribute to the forerunner of the digital age and seeming to be popular with players. So will it be a simple case of 'boom and bust' or 'loadsamoney' for our bankroll?

On the reels...
The five reels sit over a basic black background and consist of three rows each and we get 15 paying lines. You play to a synthesized musical soundtrack but Kraftwerk it ain't - though you can mute it. The icons are all stacked and are basic fruit machine symbols beginning with the BAR at 20x for a full 5-of-a-kind, Red 7 9x, Bell 3.6x, Apple 3x, Lemon 2.4x, Plum 1.8x, Orange 1.5x and of course the poor old Cherry is the lowest at 1x bet. Stacked Wilds appear on the centre three reels too.

Considering the game is themed on a less advanced computer age, we do have a lot of features to discover. On the centre 3 reels you may find one or more Expanding Symbols and in the form of double arrows and these will expand and reveal the symbol that enables the highest possible win.

The letter 'M' (Mystery Game) is the first scatter and getting 3, 4 or 5 will award a fruit pick where several of the same icon are hidden behind the 15 squares of the grid. If you reveal two or more before hitting the 'X' you get a cash prize and four will get to the next prize with six getting the best possible. If you trigger this with 4 scatters the prizes are all doubled and with 5 scatters they get a 6x multiplier. The best possible win is 108x bet if you reveal 6 of the highest-paying purple gems on a 6x multiplier, the lowest is 2x for only revealing 2 of the lowest orange gem on a 1x multiplier.

Arcader spins
The final symbol to discuss is possibly the best, the letter 'B'. You will get 9 free games with a 1x multiplier when 3 land, if 4 a 2x multiplier and if lucky enough to see all 5 then the round will be awarded a 6x multiplier. No retriggers here, but you will see one of the centre 9 tiles being zapped every spin and this produces a sticky Wild each time. Unfortunately there's no guarantee it'll be a different tile each spin, but if it is you will find the final spin takes place with a giant 3x3 Wild in the middle. If you were to see a full screen of BAR here with a 6x multiplier it would be the highest pay possible for the game, 1800x bet!

Our View...
Arcader slot is yet another example of the creativity of Thunderkick, always trying new ideas and mostly doing them well. If you're in any doubt about what a feature or symbol does, there is a soothing female voice that announces 'expansion' or 'nice' when you get a decent win. You see features regularly too and alongside that fact you get a good 96.10% RTP plus frequent base game hits to maintain that all important bankroll. If you haven't already lived through the Eighties you would do well to visit them with Arcader slot...
