Monopoly Mega Movers slot is the latest to join the WMS Hasbro catalogue, accompanying their slots Epic Monopoly II, Once Around Deluxe and the quirky Super Monopoly Money. The game is certainly eye-catching, with a deep purple background to the reels, 3 coloured feature wheels above the grid and the fixed jackpots to the right and you play to compulsory gentle hotel lobby jazz in the background. Mr. Monopoly naturally makes his appearance too on the reels, but can this charming little chappie smile upon our bankroll too?
On the reels…
We have five reels of four rows each over which there are 30 paying lines for which we pay 50 coins, but it’s generally best to play the ‘Extra Bet’ and add 25 coins to pay 75 which will add enhancements to any bonus wheel features you attain during the game.
The icons are all single bar the Mr. Monopoly symbol which appears fully stacked on all reels and is the best pay at 5x your basic 50-coin bet for a full 5-of-a-kind. The Golden Tyrannosaurus pays 2x as does the Golden Penguin, the Silver Duck 1.5x as do the Silver Cat and Silver Terrier with the Silver Battleship, Hat, Car and Locomotive all paying 1x for a full 5.
Double Six Wilds appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 and these can have arrow(s) overlaid and will expand one position in that direction i.e. up, down, left, right or diagonally. So if you had 8 arrows the Wild would become a 3×3 block shape, if it had an up arrow and down together it would become 3 rows high. Quite entertaining when more than one Wild appears!
Mega Movers wheel
Rather oddly all features and jackpots are triggered randomly here. There are five fixed jackpots which appear on the upper right of the screen and green, yellow and red wheels which are above the reel set. On any spin you may hear the music change tempo the reels will turn a dark blue and some symbols will get a white background. The reels stop and if you end up with 3, 4 or 5 of these overlays adjacent on any row you will spin the corresponding 3, 4 or 5-in-a-row wheel above the game. The awards are enhanced when you play the Extra Bet and I have shown these in brackets:
3-in-a-row awards ñ this wheel will either upgrade you to the next 4-in-a-row wheel, award 4 or 5 (5 or 6) random Wilds to be placed over the centre 3 reels or the Mini or Minor jackpot and lastly 5 or 7 (7 or 10) free spins.
4-in-a-row awards ñ this wheel will either upgrade you to the next 5-in-a-row wheel, award 5 or 6 (6 or 7) random Wilds to be placed over the centre 3 reels or the Minor or Major jackpot and lastly 10 or 12 (12 or 15) free games.
5-in-a-row awards ñ this wheel will either award 6 to 12 (7 to 12) random Wilds to be placed over the centre 3 reels or the Mini or Minor jackpot, 15, 20 or 50 (20 or 5 or 100) free games or lastly the Major, Mega or Grand jackpot.
The jackpots are fixed like for example in WMS’ Wishing You Fortune slot and pay 24x the basic 50-coin bet for the Mini, 40x Minor, 150x Major, 500x Mega and finally 2,000x Grand.
During free spins you will see a higher frequency of the random feature trigger spins too and can earn extra Wilds, jackpots or more free spins off of the Wheels again.
Monopoly Mega Movers slot is (as you may already have spotted!) is a copy of the Zeus God of Thunder slot but with a slightly better Wild arrangement. The RTP is exactly the same at 96.05% with the same maximum pay of 150x bet for a full screen of the stacked top symbol, in this case Mr. Monopoly. The graphics and animations are very good while the random Wheel trigger spins are very frequent, although remember they only trigger it if 3 land in a row adjacent. Worthy of a mention is the fact that the RTP is identical whether you choose to play the Extra Bet or not so the set-up isn’t like the Barcrest ‘Big Bet’ games slots which return more long-term for higher stakes. Monopoly Mega Movers is one board game that I won’t get bored with…
