Las Vegas-based International Game Technology (IGT) has announced a deal with UK software firm Gamesys, which will allow the company right to use some of IGT’s slot game patent library.

The new deal will allow Gamesys to use technology from IGT slots machines in their portfolio of games. Allowing them to develop more inivative and entertaining slots.

Speaking about the new arrangement, IGT Global Chief Product Officer of Gaming Victor Duarte said, “Working in partnership with Gamesys to enhance its online games leverages our R&D investment to deliver better games to more players.”

Gamesys Head of Games Studios Hans Elias added: “This agreement with IGT allows Gamesys to utilize compelling and well-established game mechanics in key jurisdictions where such IP is protected by patents. By further extending our partnership with IGT we have ensured we can benefit from their investment in R&D to develop more compelling, unique content for our partners and players.”

Gamesys are expected to start using IGT’s technology in 2016, incorporating it into several new games.
