IGT set to release Avatar slot machine

Renowned slot developer IGT announced that it is set to release two new Avatar movie-themed slot machines into land based casinos next week.

James Cameron’s Avatar Video Slots and James Cameron’s Avatar Treasures of Pandora are creating a lot of buzz around the slots industry and will be the hit movie’s first venture into slots gaming.

Both video slots will be part of IGT’s Mega Jackpots series that has paid out almost a staggering $6 billion in winnings to players who have been enjoying the slots since 1986.

The slot machines will revolve around the atmospheric and emotional final battle that occurs at the end of the movie between Pandora’s native civilization the Na’vi and the human army. During the slots action, players will have the chance to search the Na’vi forest for treasures and ride the indigenous creatures as part of an interactive bonus round.

James Cameron’s Avatar Treasures of Pandora will come with a 42 inch touch screen to give players a more interactive slots experience and will also include an incredible 7,776 ways to win.

Chief Creative Officer at IGT Darrell Rodriguez said “It was an absolute honor to collaborate with the extremely talented people at Fox Consumer Products and Lightstorm Entertainment to design and develop these games.”

Rodriguez added “We created two games that reflect the attention to detail and breathtaking beauty that James Cameron fans would expect.”

IGT has a proven track record in releasing slots based on iconic franchises both offline and online. The Hangover slot machine is proving a huge success for the company in casinos around the US and Ghostbusters is now available in both land based casinos and online. A franchise doing very nicely for IGT online is the slots Star Trek and Star Trek Against All Odds.
