The Walking Dead slots set to invade Atlantic City casinos
Slot game developer Aristocrat Technologies officially announced that The Walking Dead slots would be invading Atlantic City casinos over the coming weeks.
In news that is certain to delight fans of the AMC produced television series, The Walking Dead slots are expected to first appear in Atlantic City’s Borgata this coming weekend with further releases anticipated in the coming months.
Australian developer Aristocrat previewed the new slot game at the Global Gaming Expo back in September and the slot will be based on the first season of the zombie-themed drama series.
The Walking Dead slots will be rolled out across the US, including at Las Vegas casinos, throughout January after making their debut in Atlantic City and a transition into an online version has not been ruled out if the game proves to be successful on the land-based casino floors.
Huge excitement is building ahead of the slot’s release with over 800 pre-orders already confirmed by casinos across the US. In comparison, the Tarzan slot did not hit the 800 orders mark until six months after its release.
Gaming analyst Brian McGill said “[The pre-order figure] shows that Aristocrat is making a strong comeback and part of the reason why the industry has gotten so competitive.”
