Online slot game developer Blueprint Gaming has announced the takeover of UK-based Games Warehouse for an undisclosed amount.

This latest deal is the first of the new year for the gaming industry, which is expected to see more consolidation through 2018. Just before the festive period online gaming company GVC agreed to buy the UK’s largest bookmaker Ladbrokes Coral.

Games Warehouse are one of the few stand-alone developers who offer products across mobile, online and retail gambling. The large majority of their products are casino-based with several popular slots titles such as the imaginative Castles in The Clouds and the Science-themed Ella Mental.

BluePrint Gaming have made a number of acquisitions since becoming part of European behemoth Gauselmann Group. Games Warehouse is likely to fit well with BluePrint’s type of fun, likeable and recognisable style. Games like Jungle-themed King Kong Cash and cartoon-based Viz are testament to this.

Speaking about this latest deal Matt Cole, Managing Director from Blueprint said: “We are very pleased to welcome the Games Warehouse team to Blueprint Gaming. They will support our growth by continuing to develop creative games as well as back Blueprint’s development efforts.

“We are confident that the fit will work very well and we look forward to creating some innovative games together,” he added.

Games Warehouse, which is currently part of Harbour Group, will continue to operate out of their Derbyshire offices, with little change to the current management and staff structure.

Brandon Bezzant of Harbour Group said: “Games Warehouse first created the SWP market and more recently successfully evolved into a standalone games developer for online and mobile.

“We are sure that as a part of Blueprint Gaming and the Gauselmann Group, the team can go from strength to strength.”
