Thor Infinity Reels slot by Relax Gaming has one main issue; unlike Megaways, with ReelPlay's Infinity Reels mechanic you pretty much know the game you'll be getting due to the limitations of it. This was can see in the preceding games such as Emerald's Infinity Reels slot from Relax or ReelPlay's own duo, Odin Infinity Reels slot where they tried combining this with Megaways and El Dorado Infinity Reels. Here we have the heavy Norse Mythology theme with a wild countryside background, severe music and all the symbols you'd expect of the subject, so not too bad in appearance it must be said. So can out bankroll find Valhalla or will it be crushed under Thor's mighty hammer?
On the reels...
As usual Thor Infinity Reels slot initially displays 3 reels with 4 rows and we need to match symbols on all 3 reels to add a fourth reel and so-on. You get paid for the amount of symbols collected (minimum 5) times the multiplier in play which increases by 1x for each reel added. The symbols pay 0.5x bet each for Axes, 0.4x Helmet, 0.3x Shield or Horn with six card values of either 0.2 or 0.1x. This means the minimum win is 0.5x bet, say if you collected 5 x 10's with no multiplier. Symbols appear stacked and single with Thor Wilds possible and also Jackpot Hammer scatters. The scatters will, like the Thor Wild, perpetuate the spin and add another reel even if you don't collect another matching symbol to those you've collected. Open up 12 or more additional reels in the base game, you get an 888x bet Infinity bonus!
Jackpot Re-spins
Collect 6 or more Hammers and you will play re-spins for cash and/or fixed jackpot prizes. 10x for a Green Hammer, 50x Blue, 250x Red and 2000x bet Gold if they land during the round. You begin with the number of consecutive reels you had Hammers on when you triggered it. They stay in place and each have a cash value you get afterwards. There are 3 re-spins granted which reset each time another Hammer lands. Fill all 4 rows of a reel up, you add another reel to the re-spins grid. You are guaranteed cash for each Hammer, but naturally will be looking out for the Jackpot Hammers of which you can land more than one. You can also earn the 888x bonus here if you opened it up to 15 reels or more, as with the base game.
Our View...
Thor Infinity Reels slot has a 96.20% RTP or 96.60% if you use the 100x bet Jackpot Feature buy in some jurisdictions. I understand it's hard to do much with this Infinity mechanic so this isn't a bad effort, although I'd suggest you'll find the music and animations far more entertaining than the game, even the Money Train 2-style feature when it appears. There is big win potential here and the base game can go on little runs of wins, but really it's all about the bonus and I for one am getting tired of all these re-spin features nowadays. I'm sure Valhalla has better games to offer than what the mighty Thor has given here...
