Gods of Asgard Megaways slot by Iron Dog Studio is a Norse-themed clone of an older release of theirs, Rock the Reels Megaways. Iron Dog have made variations of the same game a few times; we had Pirate Kingdom Megaways which was reworked for Christmas Megaways and subsequently for Santa's big Bash Megaways. We get a Norse theme where the 4 Gods appear and some nice sound effects with nothing too childish visually so all good thus far. So can we fill our long ship with loot or will our bankroll be crushed under Thor's might hammer?
On the reels...
We pay 20 coins to play Gods of Asgard Megaways and have 324-200704 ways to win with 2-7 random rows over 6 reels with a top reel of 4 single symbols over the middle 4 reels so they can have a maximum of 8 in play. The base game has specific modifiers when any one or more of the 4 Gods appears on this top reel: Odin randomly places a 2x Wild on both reels 2 and 3, Freya changes 2-4 positions on reels 2 and 3 into single Wilds, Loki will transform 2-4 positions on reels 1 to 4 into the best symbol that has appeared on the first reel and lastly Thor changes 3-4 positions on reels 1 to 3 into the top-paying symbol which is the Ring at 7.5x bet for 6-of-a-kind.
Symbols appear stacked and singly with standard Wilds possible on reels 2 to 5 but not on the top reel and scatters can land on all six. Winning tiles are replaced in tumbles from above.

Gods of Asgard Megaways slot has a RTP of 96.31% (96.30 or 96.50% for bonus buys) and is colourful, easy on the ears and eyes with regular modifier Gods landing. This makes an otherwise limited base game much for fun and they can throw in the odd big hit too. The feature holds the vast majority of any potential here though and isn't too hard to hit although retriggers are exceedingly rare. If you get a lot of ways in one free spin and say Freya and Odin appearing simultaneously is when you tend to get massive hits here. Beware! Like those 4 Gods, this game is very volatile...
