Jaguar Mist slot review
Jaguar Mist Slot is 1024-way slot with 5 reels and 4 rows. It has been around a while as a land-based slot machine in Australia where Aristocrat slots hail from, but now it's online. This slot was the inspiration for Bally's Thunderhorn and latterly there are a few 'tributes' one being Lightning Box's Silver Lion. It's the game that the extended 6-reel Raging Rhino is also based on.
On the prowl
Symbols are stacked on all reels in amounts of 1 to 3 and the centre reels have single non-multiplying Wilds. As there are 1024-ways there are no paylines but just consecutive reels from left-to-right needing the winning symbols. The graphics are basic and for some reason the background noise is 'casino chatter' rather than the sounds of the South American jungle! - this reminded me of Microgaming's Break Da Bank Again...
3 Jade Coin scatters anywhere trigger 8, 15 or 20 free games. The enhancement, if you haven't guessed already, is that the Wilds available on reels 2, 3 and 4 transform to a 2 or 3x multiplier if active in a win. This means that pays can be multiplied 2 to 27x. In the free games 2 scatters will add 5 extra spins and 3 or more will add 8 - 20 retrigger spins.
Jaguar Mist Slot will be familiar to players of WMS's Raging Rhino which is very popular and was in turn based on the Bally Thunderhorn slot, but with 6 reels and 4096-ways for higher volatility. As the land-based version of Jaguar Mist was the first of this format of multiway slot I cannot fault the concept as it has been emulated so many times since by other related (and non-related!) developers. This said, surely Aristocrat have missed the boat by letting their rival developers get in the online market first and establish the aforementioned slots in front of them? Is there room in the zoo for the Jaguar...Review by Gamingslots
