Gonzo's Quest Megaways slot by Red Tiger is their second Megaways since Netent took the company over in 2019. Piggy Riches Megaways was the first Netent title to be given the Megaways treatment and now the old tumbling reels classic Gonzo's Quest has joined the fold. No scrolling reel of 4 symbols here and therefore the 2-7 random rows for each of the six columns on Gonzo's Quest Megaways slot means that 64-117649 ways are possible. The tiles can appear single or stacked and are removed when wins occur to be replaced from above in a cascade. As with the original, we retain the in-play multiplier for each successive winning cascade, 1x, 2x, 3x and 5x. You need 3 or more Gold Coin scatters but they must fall on consecutive reels from the first onward in a winning way. You can also have a Wild tile count in the way of 3. If you land 4, 5 or 6 scatters you get 3 extra spins for each and they can be retriggered too. In this scenario, if a Wild falls on the second half of the grid it will too count as a scatter if consecutive to the trigger already landed. The enhancement is triple pays via the multiplier which is now 3x, 6x, 9x and a maximum 15x for the third successive win onward. Some big potential here!
Our View...
Gonzo's Quest Megaways slot keeps true to the original idea with the same good graphics, sounds and animations. As said, the multiplier system of the original base game and bonus is retained as well as the 96.00% RTP. The only 3 modifiers they added are the random low-value tile removal, allowing the Wild to substitute for a scatter and most importantly to help with big wins, the Wilds being sticky within each spin. The base game is quite fun, the free spins seldom disappoint and the 15x multiplier isn't that rare in the bonus although getting a good win while it's activated may be hard.
