twin spin deluxe slot gameTwin Spin Deluxe slot really needs no introduction as most players will have seen or played the original 243-way Twin Spin at some time or other, a simple but entertaining game with its conjoined reels and stacked symbols. It is one of my personal favourites and I've often wished Netent would make a new version rather than cloning it as they did with Fantasini - Master Of Mystery. So my face lit up when I became aware a 'deluxe' version has been developed, thinking maybe they'd added another reel like Novomatic did with Book Of Ra Deluxe 6 to make it more volatile and the pays bigger.

The appearance is similar with transparent reels over a fine grid of squares and cubes of changing-colour lights plus the same sort of icons as before and although the background music has been changed to a more aggressive beat track, we still get the same sound when more than 2 reels are going to clone. Can this new design have a deluxe effect on our cash though?

On the reels...
I was hugely impressed seeing we now have 6 reels of 5 rows each, thinking there would be some equally huge improvements in potential and mid-range wins. My heart dropped as soon as I saw that the minimum stake was 10 coins as opposed to the original 25 because I then realized there must have been some significant alterations in volatility, and I was right!

Netent have retained the 2-reels conjoined system and we can still get from three to all the reels cloning randomly on any spin. And this is where my heart finally sank into my shoes - you don't get 'ways' (on this grid it would have been 15675-ways) but the dreaded 'cluster pays' like with Aloha! and Emoji Planet. Yes, 9 or more adjacent icons anywhere offer a prize. I will go through the motions of the x bet awards, firstly with the minimum 9 adjacent icons to the maximum 30: Diamonds 5/1000, Sevens or Bars 2/500, Bells or Cherries 1/250, A,K,Q or J 0.5/100. And that's it.

Our View...
Twin Spin Deluxe is a pointless exercise of combining a decent slot with no triggered feature i.e. the original Twin Spin with the base-game characteristics of the Cluster Pay games which actually do have a feature, but which you don't get here. Yes, the RTP is good at 96.61% and the maximum pay 1000x bet (original 1080x) but the variance is far lower and that certainly put me off. Twin Spin is a game crying out to be made more volatile (think what they could do with those Diamonds on the original paying 40x bet for just one way!) and instead Netent have done the opposite, made it fat and bloated in appearance and full of wind. So, Twin Spin Deluxe? - in this case Twin Spin sucks...
