Free Wilderland slot
Please be patient, some games take longer to load than others!
Wilderland slot by Netent returns us to a fantasy fairy tale dark world we have seen previously with games such as The Wish Master and a very old Netent slot, Secret Code. At least those two were far better than the most recent mystery topic, the dreadful Golden Grimoire slot so let's hope this is too. Transparent reels over a haunted forest background greet us and we get some tinkling, spooky mood music as we spin which is good as music can make or break the feel of a game. So will Wilderland slot be leaving our bankroll in the wilderness?
We have 5 reels of 3 rows each and 20 fixed pay lines here on Wilderland slot, which as the name suggests is all about Wilds but we'll get to those soon. You have a Hot Zone across the centre row which means nothing to our 5-of-a-kind pays at present which are Princess 6x bet, Fox or Arrows 4x, Jewelled Brooch or Ring 3.5x and four card suits at 1.5 or 1x for a full line. You can get scatters only in the top and bottom rows (for now) and 5OAK Wilds are possible too.
This is where the Walking Wilds come in. You need to land 2 or more adjacent standard Wilds in the Hot Zone on row 2 to trigger one of 4 Walking Wild types which move left one column a spin until off the grid:
Expanded Wild - a full reel Wild.
Walking Wild - a single Wild as above.
Scatter Wild - a Wild counting as a scatter too.
2x Wild - A multiplying Wild, they also multiply each other.
Magic Wild - this is a random occurrence when the stacked Wild disappears from reel 1 and there are no other Wilds left on the grid. It may reappear on reel 5!
You need 3 or more scatters and/or Wild scatters to trigger a minimum of 6 spins. You begin with a Wild placed in the centre of reel 5 and now the whole 3 rows are the Hot Zone. If you trigger with 4 or 5 scatters you simply get 1 or 2 more randomly-placed Walking Wilds or 2x Multiplier Wilds. You cannot get scatter Wilds now but the Magic Wild as above can now be any sized Walking Wild, not just 3-high. You still get all the other Forest Treasure Features above too for any adjacent Wilds landing on any of the 3 rows. It sounds complicated but really, it's quite simple when you watch and you can accrue some decent wins here.
Wilderland slot has a RTP of 96.16% and plays like a low to medium volatility game. It's certainly easy on the eye and the game on autoplay makes a good spectacle as do the free games when in play, but you'll be lucky to see any substantial wins in them even with the higher frequency of Wilds landing due to the low line pays here. In reality, it looks and sounds far more exciting than it is which may attract some players but I can see through the glossy veneer here...
