Lord of the Ocean slot review

Lord of the Ocean mobile slotGrowing up, we were all mesmerized by the enchanting tale of Neptune and how he was the lord of the ocean. His story clearly had an impact on the whizz kids at renowned casino game developer Novomatic because they released a slots title that was inspired by the big man himself.

On the Reels...
Lord of the Ocean is an aquatic-themed 5 reel, 10 payline mobile slot that has some sublime graphics and really plays on the mystical vibe associated with the legend behind Neptune. The reels are set against a background of deep ocean.

The Symbols
The symbols on the reels consist of Neptune himself, a beautiful mermaid, an underwater statue, treasure chest, and the regular 10-through-to-Ace symbols. Hitting five Neptune symbols across the reels delivers the largest payout on these symbols.

Book of Ra in Disguise?
As with Novomatic's superb Book of Ra Deluxe mobile slot, this title has a symbol that acts as both the Wild and the Scatter. That symbol is the golden gate icon. It substitutes for all other symbols to help complete any potential winning combinations. However, it also plays the key role in triggering the free spins bonus round.

Earn 10 Free Spins with a 2x Multiplier
The similarities between Lord of the Ocean and Book of Ra Deluxe do not end there. You will need three or more of the golden gate Scatters to trigger the free spins bonus round and, once triggered, you will earn 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier. The Special Expanding symbol also appears on this free spins bonus round filling up three positions on a reel if the potential to hit a winning combination materializes.

Our View...
Lord of the Ocean just has a really magical feel to it. The music, the graphics, and the symbols all combine to offer a very ambient experience. The wins are not the biggest you will earn but this mobile slot is gaming at its most fundamental with easy-to-learn gameplay and the chance to enjoy some wins as you go. It might receive criticism for being almost an identical twin of Book of Ra Deluxe but then it appears Novomatic is sticking to the mantra of “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”.
