Crystal Ball slot review
The game itself has a range of symbols that revolve around the topic of fortune telling and astrology including astrological symbols, tarot card symbols and the fortune teller herself glaring quite creepily into her crystal ball.
Crystal Ball does have the same graphics as the crime heist themed Bank Bandit to the extent where you do actually think that NuWorks had a graphics template and just mass produced these games without little care or consideration for their similarities. Luckily for NuWorks, this slot offers more than graphics and sound.
The Zodiac symbol represents the Wild and only appears on reels 2 and 4. It substitutes for all other symbols, except for the scatter symbols, to complete winning combinations. There is also a second Wild symbol in the form of the Gold Zodiac symbol. This is only present on the middle reel and has the same impact as the Zodiac Wild symbol except that a payout is doubled when the Gold Zodiac Wild substitutes for another symbol to complete a winning combination.
The other main symbol in the game to keep an eye out for is the Astrologer scatter symbol. If you manage to hit three or more of these scatter symbols across the reels then you will trigger the free spins bonus round. You will be initially given 12 free spins in this bonus round. A multiplier, starting at 2x, is awarded with each free spin and the multiplier increases by 2 with each free spin up to a maximum value of 12x.
Crystal Ball offers a bonus feature that is slightly easier to trigger than in other NuWorks titles but the wins are less likely to be as emphatic. The two Wild symbols means that every spin in regular play could draw a win but you will not see the gigantic rewards that Bank Bandit offers through its two bonus features. You could win a fair amount on the free spins round but it is not the most rewarding NuWorks slot out there. This will more likely be the slot you fill a few minutes playing rather than spend a prolonged period of time playing.
