Master Chen's Fortune slot is not one which I can in all honesty type out an interesting review for as you will shortly (very shortly!) discover. Now Pragmatic Play are providing games to an ever-increasing amount of multi-platform online casinos with some decent titles in their portfolio including Jurassic Giants (their Raging Rhino-based slot) and latterly Da Vinci's Treasure but alas this one you may not remember as well, once you've seen it.
The theme is Oriental with simple plain black reels and the obligatory Chinese pipes-and-cymbals music as we spin combined with Pragmatic's Novo-style trotting sounds as the reels stop but we do get some decent animations when anything happens - which is rare. Is Master Chen going to put some of his fortune into our bankroll though?
You get 5 reels of 3 rows each with 9 paying lines which pay both right-to-left and left-to-right and for which you pay 9 coins to play. This game is all about the line pays and when you see the 5-of-a-kind pays they indicate the one-dimensional mechanic behind the slot. The icons are mostly single and Master Chen is the Wild appearing on reels 2, 3 and 4 and doubles the line pays he appears in. When he does so, he looks mighty pleased with himself and grins inanely whilst making some strange muttering noises with his hands clasped together - possibly been on the opium methinks.
So for your 9-coins you get a substantial 5000 coins for 5-of-a-kind Cats or 555.55x bet in those terms and of course this is doubled if Master Chen appears, to the game's best pay of 1,111x bet. The remaining symbols (not doubled) award 2500 coins for the Money Tree, 1250 Mandarins, 750 Green Vase and six card values Ace through 9 paying 500 down to 100 coins. That's all folks - as for in-play randoms and features, Master Chen has nothing to offer you!
Master Chen's Fortune slot is not a game which I can see the purpose of, other than to dress up a basic 3-reel slot maths model into a 5-reel one to make it look more interesting. You do get a good 96.43% RTP and although with those pays described above you may think it to be a quite volatile slot, Pragmatic Play label it as just under medium-variance. I have to confirm that indeed wins are quite frequent so cannot disagree with their description. True enough, you could win over 1000x but surely there are more interesting places than Master Chen's to try and do so...
