Phoenix Forge slot summary
Phoenix Forge slot by Pragmatic Play tries to be different and the first thing you could well notice is the way the base game tries to emulate Big Time Gaming's POP slot. The general theme is a dungeons and dragons sort of thing with a treasure chamber behind the reels, intense dramatic music and medieval-style metal symbols. The look has elements of their Aztec Bonanza slot blended with the eggs of Dragon Kingdom Eyes of Fire slot but whichever, it's different from their standard look. The usual 5-reel 3-row format of Phoenix Forge slot gives us 20 fixed pay lines with single and stacked symbols possible. There are single Wild Eggs on the centre 3 reels and Phoenix scatters on all reels and no random modifiers. The 5-of-a-kind pays relate simply to the 7 silver shapes with embedded colour gems which make the standard symbols. For Red there's 25x bet, Yellow 20x, Green 12.5x, Blue or Pink 5x and finally Orange or Light Blue at 3.75x. These can be increased though!
Hot Spot Multiplier
Any winning tiles are replaced from above with those remaining falling to the bottom of the reel. When the winning tiles are removed, a 1x multiplier will be displayed in their original position. If this position is used in the next tumble in a winning combination, the position increases to 2x and so-on. Obviously more than one multiplying position can be used in the same win, in which case any multipliers are added together.
Free Games
You get 10, 15 or 20 for 3, 4 and 5-scatters respectively. No retriggers, but you do get +5 spins for 3 or more Phoenix scatters during the bonus. I think you've guess the enhancement here - yes, the multiplying positions do not reset between spins and can only increase. We are told the bonus is limited to 5,000x bet, which judging by my experiences here would be some kind of miracle.
Our View...
Phoenix Forge slot has a good 96.51% RTP and brings us a taste of Big Time Gaming in the base game and feature. There isn't a great win frequency in the base game and therefore many multiplier positions in play aren't usual, even then you'll rarely see any decent 4 or 5OAK wins overlaying them. The result of that is a game very centred around the free spins feature which doesn't come in too often on this volatile slot. When it does, the bonus is quite exciting to watch, especially when you've had some early building up of the multipliers and indeed there is some good potential available. Try this game and your bankroll could well rise from the ashes too...
