Pixie Wings slot summary
Pixie Wings slot is what you would get if you made a hybrid from two famous IGT games, Pixies of The Forest and 100 Ladies as it incorporates the theme of one and mechanic of the other. You have the game set in a forest glade and have the nice relaxing woodland wildlife sounds in the background and fairytale music as you play, which then gets shattered by the rather odd inclusion of EGT-style trotting noises as the reels stop! Weird stuff. The graphics are pretty basic though as are the animations, but the real issue is whether these little creatures can sprinkle their magic over our bankroll?

Pixie Wings is pretty basic in design and like numerous games nowadays we see the inclusion of 'super stacked' icons as we spin, another IGT specialty. We get 50 pay lines over 5 reels of 4 rows each and all icons can appear stacked which explains the paltry pays for any 5-of-a-kind line wins. The game's icon is a Wild and pays 10x bet so offers the chance of the best award for a full screen at 500x stake. The yellow Pixie pays 1.5x bet, or 75 coins and then comes the pink Pixie at 45 coins, blue at 30 and green at 25 coins. The five card values pay 20 down to 12 coins so a full screen of 10's say would pay a mere 12x bet and should you see a 3-of-a-kind of them the pay would be only one coin per line!
Free spins of the forest
You need to see 3 or more Tree Scatters in view to trigger a free spins round. You can actually choose your volatility as in slots like Wishing You Fortune or Jungle Spirit. Here we have a choice of the top paying yellow Pixie as our only super stacked symbol over 5 free games, the pink Pixie (second highest icon) for 7 spins, blue Pixie for 9 spins and finally the green Pixie for 11.
There is also a 'Select Randomly' choice which gives you 3 to 12 spins on any of the above 4 Pixies but also the possibility of the Wild too as a super stacked icon. You cannot retrigger the games but every time a Tree scatter appears you will be awarded 1 extra free spin.
Our View...
Pixie Wings slot has had little imagination put into it and comes across as a very tedious and old hat kind of game. It puts nothing new on the table and is quite draining to play with a high win frequency of piddling pays and hardly any chance of improving things in the rare free games. It's a bit dispiriting to see 3 full reels of decent symbols to only get about 4 or 5x your bet in return and there's no visuals to distract from the torpor of base game. As far as I'm concerned these Pixies can open their wings and fly off, never to be seen again...
