Starlight Princess slot by Pragmatic Play is yet another example of a developer churning out 'new' games which are in fact all a variation or clone of an existing one. Here we have a similar mechanic to Sweet Bonanza Xmas slot or if you cannot face the daft look of that, Fruit Party 2 slot with a different multiplier format. The Anime Princess looks suspiciously like her in Netent's Koi Princess slot by the way! Here we have basic symbols, techno beat music and some zappy sound effects when any action occurs. So can we hit some royal wins here or will our bankroll end up as weak as starlight itself?
On the reels...
Six reels of 5 rows apiece with stacked symbols greet us on Starlight Princess slot and we have pays for 8 or more scattered tiles which are replaced from above via tumbles. You are paid for 8/9 symbols as low pays, 10/11 medium and 12-30 for the high pays. The high and low values for each symbol are: 50/10x Sun, 25/2.5x Heart, 15/2x Moon, 12/1.5x Star with 5 colour gems paying from 10/1x down to 2/0.25x for the high and low pays respectively. There are no Wilds but we do get 4 coloured Winged Hearts which when landing award a 2-500x multiplier if any win occurs on the spin, they are added if more than one is collected. The Princess scatter is the final symbol and appears on all 6 reels paying 100x if it does but we need 3+ for our bonus.
If landing 3+ Princess symbols, you get 15 free games with +5 for landing 3 or more during them. This time, as you might have worked out, the winning multiplier Hearts are added up and accumulated over the whole round so each win will have a multiplier of the total value collected thus far. You have a 5,000x limit as the maximum win.
The good 96.50% RTP is really the only thing going for this game. It's not fun to play for extended periods as the sounds and music get annoying after a while. We've seen the idea before and as I said at the start, it's just another cobbled-together Pragmatic shelf-filler game. The 5,000x pay limit is on almost every one of their slots of late and it seems a bit lazy to me as you get the feeling their bonus rounds are all 'lottery' mechanics for the 5,000x prize. No princess of a slot I'm afraid but most definitely a pauper...
