Dragon Sisters slot has an unusual format created by slot developer Push Gaming. Immediately noticeable is the fact we get two reel sets against a spectacular backdrop of a creepy mountain-top castle in what is indeed a ‘Dungeons And Dragons’ style theme. The effect is cleverly enhanced as the reels stop with sinister footsteps sounding like the Devil’s hooves and wins are greeted with loud bursts of classical doom-laden music. Is it all possible that these Dragons could actually be The Sisters of Mercy to our bankroll?
On the reels…
This slot can be as volatile as the Dragon’s fiery breath and both 5-reel and 3-row slots have 25 pay lines and are similar with one exception – on the bottom set you get the first of the Dragon Sisters, a Blue Wild and the top the second Sister, the Red Wild. These are in fact the game’s only feature so we can examine these later – firstly let’s evaluate the all-important pays Dragon Sisters slot offers.
We get all symbols stacked with the exception of the Wild Dragon Sisters and the standard fiery Wild icon which appears on all reels paying 15x bet for a 5-of-a-kind win. On the bottom reels we get the Blue Sister herself and on the top the Red Sister, both of which also pay 15x bet for the full 5, followed by the Crown, Shield, Sword and Spear paying 5, 4, 2 and 2x bet for the full line. We don’t see card values but get furry seeds of various colours offering smaller pays of 0.6 to 1x bet.
Each sister has her own matching colour of special Dragon Wild as we saw above. Should you see the Blue Wild on the bottom reels, it will spectacularly fire 2 or more random Wilds onto the top reels which will re-spin hopefully creating wins. The Red Dragon Wild on the top acts differently – any reel(s) it lands on will freeze the corresponding reel(s) on the bottom grid into fully stacked Wilds for a re-spin.
During these re-spins there are no standard Wilds on the reels, the only Wilds you can get are further Dragon Wilds: this quite often occurs in fact, so you get successive re-spins bouncing back and forth between the two sets of reels. All Wilds accumulated on either set become sticky for this series of re-spins.
Dragons Sisters has excellent sound effects and graphics and Push Gaming to their credit have tried something original. The game does play quite slowly though and uses a fair bit of your processing speed too due to the enhanced graphics. The top pay for one grid full of Wilds is only 375x bet, although in theory it would be possible to get this twice with enough rebounding re-spins. The base game pays are quite infrequent and low as it appears a significant amount of the high 96.73% RTP is contained within the Wild Dragon re-spin events but you can play with only 25 coins. I love the effects and animations but got the impression quite quickly that this slot would be difficult to win well on: these Sisters certainly scissored my starting balance!
