Tiki Fruits slot summary
Tiki Fruits slot follows hot on the heels of possibly Red Tiger's most successful game to date, Laser Fruit so maybe this one has a lot to live up to. The theme thus is very different although commonly used elsewhere with games such as Tiki Wonders and Tiki Island so we are treated to Hawaiian fruits and idols on our tropical island background with the mood music you would expect as you play. The Tiki idol sits by the reels to award us heavenly offerings on occasion, so will Tiki Fruits prove to be a sweet success for your bankroll or will it all turn sour?
On the reels...
In common with games such as Gemix and Moon Princess we have a cascade grid where wins are awarded for any 5+ symbols joining adjacently in any pattern. The grid is large though as there are 8 reels of 10 rows each and pays are awarded for the minimum 5 joined icons to 31+ icons. For example cherries pay 0.1x for 5 up to 8x bet for 31+. These increase marginally for lemons, oranges, grapes and melons respectively and the 31+ pays greatly increase for the higher icons at 50x for Dice, 75 for Bells, 100 for Stars, 125 for Sapphires and a huge 777x for 31 or more 7's in a block. There are no Wilds but scatters do appear and in common with many games of this construct, you do get a few in-play features.
Fruit bars
On each play the lower 5 fruit icons have a bar to the right of the game and accumulated blocks equaling 20 or more on the same play will eliminate that symbol from the grid which then increases the chances of another cascading win. The Tiki statue will blow any unused symbols of that type from the grid and naturally he can also do some random deeds to our grid too! He may spin and blow random unused icons off of the reels or breathe in and suck all of one type away, and as he has two sections he may do both at once and can repeat this after another cascade in the same play.
Tiki spins
You need to accumulate 5 Coconut Bonus scatters to trigger a usually very good free games bonus. It's not easy to hit but worth it when it happens and is quite fun to watch as it can go on for some time. You could also get all 5 scatter drop in on one play but this is rare, accumulation is the usual way they trigger. The Tiki statue will award from 6 to 20 spins, usually 10 or 12. You can retrigger them too and the enhancement is that the fruit bars will not reset between each spin, thus increasing the chances of clearing all lower pays from the reels and almost guaranteeing a very good return which can be up to 2000x bet if the Hawaiian Gods are smiling upon you!
Our view...
Despite the simple and not too adult theme Tiki Fruits is a very entertaining play and one of the better Red Tiger games. Random interventions from the Idol are frequent but don't be fooled by either the 96.05% RTP or gentle appearance - Tiki Fruits is a volatile game and quite a large proportion of its return is centred around the free games and if not in the mood these can be quick and shall we say, not very fruitful. Due to the 80 positions on the grid it's easy to watch and colourful and the sound effects are not too wearing either. This is a tropical destination I'll certainly be revisiting...
