Jackpot Raiders slot by Yggdrasil Gaming brings us an adventure theme and is clearly modelled on their Holmes and the Stolen Stones game, with a touch of Baron Samedi and Cazino Zeppelin added to the appearance. This looks promising as does the background to the reels which is an old wooden ship's cabin no doubt sailing towards adventure in some distant destination. We start our journey here with 20 fixed lines over 5 reels of 4 rows each. You can see fixed jackpot amounts above each reel too, but we'll find out abut those later. For now the 5-of-a-kind awards are more important and these are 200x bet for the Explorer (Sam), 100x Captain (Bear), 50x Sam's Hat, 37.5x Backpack with 10, 9, 7.5 and 6.5x for the card suits of hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades respectively. There are no Wilds here but there are Compasses on all reels which you need 3 of to commence upon your risky bonus adventure!
Compass Trigger
Having hit 3 Compass scatters you get a Compass spin. If you hit all 5 scatters you will get a handy 500x stake reward, but either way the Compass spins and takes you to either the 10 Jackpot free spins or the Treasure Hunt Bonus Picks. In the 10 Jackpot free games you have a 3x multiplier and can collect gems of 5 different colours which pertain to the fixed jackpot prizes above the reels which are progressives and are seeded at 40 for the Forgotten, 200 for the Rare, 600 Mythical, 1500 Ancient and 15,000 Legendary. You need 5 gems of any colour to win its jackpot. If you hit Bonus and not the free spins another absorbing adventure awaits.
Treasure Hunt Bonus Picks
If the Compass awards this then you pick your character. Sam has higher prizes but is risky and can end quicker, Bear has lower rewards but more likely to give them. You then choose a route, safe, risky or very risky. You get 3 picks and every time a chest is hit you get its prize and move up a level. Chests can contain 50-1800 coins, a random Map towards your free spins collection or a relic towards your Sunken City free games bonus. So yes, you can trigger the 10 Sunken City free spins which are played at a 10x multiplier, all by collecting 5 relics in these Treasure Hunt picks. In the Sunken City you also get a one gem head start for all 5 of your jackpots collection.
Maps
The surprises don't end here as in the base game 5 different Maps can appear on the reels and you will have them collected under each reel. Collect 5 of any type and you then trigger 10 free spins with one gem allocated at the start, but this time no multiplier. We finally reach the end of this adventure with an mini-game for 2 scatters. You pick from 5 Chests and get either one random Map towards your collection, 20 to 80 coins or if very fortunate, the Compass which acts as if yu've triggered the feature and so you'll get either the Jackpot free games or Treasure Hunt picks. Our View...
Phew! Jackpot Raiders slot as you can see is quite detailed and involved but the various possibilities above means that the game is absorbing to play with 3 different ways to trigger free games, and even then having 3 varieties. I like the mini game you get for 2 scatters although it rarely gives the bonus, and I'm wise enough to understand that at the basic 20-coin stake the jackpots are very unlikely. 3.8% of the 96.30% RTP is allocated to them though but this doesn't detract from the excellent artwork, soundtrack and superb animations we always get from Yggdrasil. The only negative is that like Holmes and the Stolen Stones, the free games can be poor in returns as the gems seem to reduce the chances of decent line-pays which is unwelcome when you consider that the best 200x 5OAK win could have a 10x multliplier in the Sunken City round. I cannot recommend you not to play this slot though, as having a raid for these jackpots could well reward you very nicely...
