Sunny Shores slot summary
Sunny Shores slot conjures up images of summer holidays, beach vacations or even a tropical island, just as in similar slots like NetEnt's Beach or Pariplay's Froots. In this case you'd likely have a combination of all three as we have the transparent reel set on a background of a cartoon cove bordered by palm trees and some beautiful white sandy beaches which are accompanied by a weird mix of calypso and classical music. It reminds me in many ways of Aloha! There are super-sized reels here of which we get 5. There are 5 rows on each, and, as is the case usually with this format, the symbols are all stacked. You pay 25 coins per spin but strangely have 27 pay lines which pay both ways, i.e. from the left and the right. There are only 7 standard symbols of which the Oyster is the best pay at 12x bet for a 5-of-a-kind win. Aside from this mollusc, the rest are fruits paying 8x bet for the Pineapple, 6x for the Strawberry, 3.6x Bananas, 3.2x Grapes, 2.8x Melons and finally 2.4x for the Pear. And yes, you may have noticed that some of those are quite alien to the tropical environment!
Sunny Wilds
Unfortunately this is another Yggdrasil game with no dedicated bonus round, similar to their Power Plant slot. Like that game though, we do get an in-play Wild feature. In this case whenever one of the single childish 'Suns' land in view it will expand one or two positions in two to eight directions thus awarding from 2 to 16 extra Wilds. Wins are paid then a respin occurs and if (rarely) another Wild lands wins are paid and it occurs again. The directions can be diagonal as well as vertical and horizontal and if the Wilds go off the edge they will be placed on the opposite side. As with most Yggdrasil slots the 5-of-a-kind Wilds pay the same as the top-paying icon.
Our View...
Sunny Shores slot has one thing positive going for it - the 96.20% RTP. The graphics are basic and music annoying although you can mute it fortunately. The pays are low thus the volatility is correspondingly low with what I calculated to be a maximum possible pay for a full screen of Wilds/Oysters of 324x bet. Just to top things off the graphics are of the juvenile style seemingly favoured by Scandinavian slot developers. Try as I might, I cannot think or one reason to play this game: my suggestion is book your holiday to a different destination...
