Scientific Games has announced plans to release a new Star Wars slot game later this month.
Through its SG Gaming division the company has managed to secure a lucrative and exclusive licensing deal with Lucas Film to develop and release a new online slot based on the popular 1977 sci-fi movie.
The Star Wars franchise is sure to be a welcome addition to the online slots world with big name movie franchises having a successful track record of making a transition as an online slot. IGT has released the smash hit Star Trek – Against All Odds slot and Playtech has released a range of slots based on Hollywood blockbuster movies including the epic Gladiator slot and the high-octane The Avengers slot.
Scientific Games are not releasing details of the game and release dates yet, but have confirmed that the slot will include a number of exciting new features.
These features consist of a Red 5 Bonus, Expanding Wild Bonus and an interactive bonus feature called the Millennium Falcon Bonus where players must shoot down TIE Fighters in order to win big prizes.
A specific release date has yet to be confirmed but Scientific Games have stated that an estimated release date has been set for the end of October this year.
