MX Digital seals deal to develop Blues Brothers slot

US-based online slot developer MX Digital confirmed this week that it had agreed a licensing deal that would enable it to develop a Blues Brothers online slot.

The licensing deal agreed with Blues Brothers Approved Ventures means that MX Digital has the rights to release new online casino games based on the movie franchise and the roll out of the products is set to be promoted by Blues Brothers star Dan Aykroyd who appeared in the movie alongside the late John Belushi.

MX Digital have described the licensing deal as a fantastic opportunity to attract new players to the online slots market using a “globally iconic” brand that will expose online slots to a wider audience.

Commercial Director for MX Digital Ike McFadden said “Since their 1976 debut on Saturday Night Live, the Blues Brothers have recorded multi-platinum-selling albums, toured to sell out arenas, made two feature films and appeared in video games across half a dozen platforms and technologies. All signs point to this being a massive success in the online gaming marketplace.”

Representing Blues Brothers Approved Ventures, Panacea Entertainment’s Eric Gardner stated “What better iconic characters than those rapscallions with hearts of gold, Jake & Elwood Blues, to be emblazoned in the ether on digital slot machines, and what better partners could Judy [Belushi’s widow] and Danny ask for than industry leaders MX Digital.”

MX Digital also announced that it would be releasing five other products this year including branded slots based on iconic stars such as Chuck Norris, James Dean, Dennis Rodman and ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier with a planned slot release for the popular console game BloodRayne also planned.
