Las Vegas-based IGT and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) have teamed up to release the first omni-channel prize pool jackpot in North America.
The new jackpot ‘Powerbucks’ will link together the land-based slot game ‘Power Hits’ at 33 of BCLC’s gaming venues with both mobile and desktop versions of the game at PlayNow.com in British Columbia and Manitoba.
The progressive jackpot will be seeded at C$1 million (€680,000 or $763,800), along with a static jackpot of C$1 million. By doing so the two companies aim to give Powerbucks the attraction it needs to become a firm favorite with players.
Players can be eligible for the static jackpot by playing any coin size between C$0.50 and C$2.99. For those wagering C$3.00 or more, they will be able to play for the progressive jackpot.
“Powerbucks delivers a whole new jackpot experience to PlayNow.com players that is unique in North America,” BCLC vice-president of e-gaming Monica Bohm said.
“Players can play Powerbucks for a chance to win jackpots of C$1 million or more anytime from their mobile devices, home computers or local casinos.”
