Play’n GO has released its latest addition to the Merlin slot series, Merlin: Journey of Flame. This game serves as a prequel to previous releases by Play’n GO that include Merlin and the Ice Queen Morgana, and Rise of Merlin.
The gameplay of Merlin: Journey of Flame incorporates the popular Expanding Symbol feature, which slots fans may know from Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead slot. During this game, players aim to land three or more coloured Runes in order to achieve a win. Merlin himself is a high-paying symbol, while the Dragon Egg acts as a standard Wild and its cracked variant serves as the Scatter symbol.
Enhanced Free Spins
By obtaining three or more Hatched Dragon Egg Scatters, players can trigger up to eight Free Spins. These Free Spins come with an additional sixth reel, offering more chances to win.
Before the Free Spins round begins, a Special Expanding Symbol is randomly chosen. This symbol expands when a winning combination is formed. The number of reels required for expansion depends on whether the symbol is high-paying or a low-paying coloured Rune symbol.
Additionally, Merlin has the ability to use a Gamble Spell, but it comes with risks. This spell can be activated when wins are below 2500 coins. If Merlin correctly guesses the color during a mini-game, his prize can be doubled. However, players should exercise caution as the Gamble Spell can only be cast five times in a row or reach a maximum of 2500 coins, requiring careful decision-making.
