Sun and Moon slot review
While it won't exactly trouble established slots developers such as gaming-behemoth Playtech and equally large Microgaming in the Aztec game stakes, there's still plenty to enjoy about this Sun and Moon slot from developer Aristocrat. Taking a classic line - complete with grating casino sound effects which luckily can be turned off - Sun and Moon will never win any awards for being attractive, but it makes up for it with some solid gameplay.
On the Reels...
Played with 20 paylines across its five reels, Sun and Moon features plenty of Aztec symbols like masks, statues, ornate patterns and badges, with some of Aristocrat's customary royal 9-through-to-Ace symbols making up the numbers. Look out, though, for the pyramid icon on reel 2 - when it hits it will transform into another symbol. This can be particularly helpful if it finds itself turning into a Wild to substitute for other symbols.
Earn up to 50 Free Spins
The sun and moon symbols act as both Wilds and Scatters. The potential to hit up to 50 free spins can be won by landing Wild suns and moons on reels 1 and 2 simultaneously.
The Wilds are Scatters Too!
Having said that, if you do hit more of those Wilds in a row from left to right, you'll bag more free spins. While this seems a little hard to hit, I found the transforming pyramid to turn into Wilds a lot to activate the round. With the Wilds acting as bonus Scatters, you do find yourself trying to hit those magic Suns and Moons a lot in order to get any bonus wins.
However, with the transforming symbol thrown in for good measure, there's still plenty to make your money go further. If you're after more Aztec thrills across the reels, check out Play'n Go's Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols, while Aristocrat's own Tiki Torch is a very impressive alternative.Review by Gamingslots
