Rhino Rampage slot by Blueprint Gaming joins an ever-growing selection of games featuring this famous African beast, begun by WMS with their classic Raging Rhino slot. The trouble is that the theme has become very generic with the same sunset-lit Veldt background and animals on the reels plus same old tribal music and here is no different. Pragmatic's Great Rhino Megaways is another recent game with the theme and that came hot on the heels of Raging Rhino Megaways, so we are enduring a stampede of these animals! So how quickly will this Rhino rampage through our bankroll?
On The Reels...
A grid of 5 reels and 3 rows with 25 pay lines is how we start off on Rhino Rampage slot. It brings nothing new to the table though with generic old features. The 5-of-a-kind pays are 40x bet for the Wild Rhino which appears stacked on all reels, 16x Cheetah, 12x Hyena, 8x Warthog, 6x Meerkat with four card values of either 3 or 2x for a full line. There are no random features and Flame Trees (there's a surprise!) make up the scatters on the odd reels with stacked Moons on all of them which at least tells us we get 2 features here.
Lightning Spins
Using a feature seen on numerous slots and very tired, we have Moons overlaid with cash values. If you land 6 or more you get a re-spin feature with them held in place and these re-spins reset to 3 every time you land another Moon. They pay 1 to 25x bet each but there are also fixed jackpots at 30, 100, 500 and 1000x bet for the Mini, Minor, Major and Mega Moons respectively.
Rhino Rampage
Get the Tree scatter on reel 1, 3 and 5 to trigger 5 free spins. You get a colossal 3x3 symbol guaranteed to land over the centre 3 reels while the outside ones spin to see if you can get a match. Invariably you get the low card values and even then seldom make full lines up via matching the outside reels in the best positions. The colossal Bonus will award extra spins, the colossal Moon the Lightning Spins feature and you can get the Rhino as a colossal Wild, really the only one worth getting.
Our View...
A shelf-filler if ever there was one is the best way to describe Rhino Rampage slot. It has a 96.01% RTP but is boring in pretty much every way until you get one of the features which are much better, especially the Rhino Rampage. The graphics and music are stereotyped for the theme and you'll rarely win much despite the 1000x potential for a full screen of Wilds. I won't be rampaging through the grass to get back to this slot...
