Fluffy Favourites Megaways is Eyecon's (owned by Playtech) first Megaways game and they used an old 20-line slot, Fluffy Favourites, as a basis for it. That game is the benchmark by which childish themes are judged on all slots that came after it. Here the subject is one of those cuddly toy grab-games you see at fairgrounds and seaside resorts in the UK and some other unfortunate locations. The background is a circus tent festooned with balloons and to cap it off there is a jolly and infantile soundtrack. I try to avoid juvenile games, but alas have had to scrape about to find some in order to provide a comparison to the level of inanity we see here. I have come up with Nextgen's Teddy Bear's Picnic slot or alternatively Pariplay's awful Pets slot and finally any of Play'n Go's ridiculous Hugo slots although at least those were based on a TV show that for some reasons young Scandinavians seemed to like. So will this game make a quick grab for our bankroll or can we leave with it fluffed up a bit?
On Fluffy Favourites Megaways we have the most usual Megaways format with six reels of 2-7 rows each and a scrolling line of four symbols above the centre reels for 324-117,649-ways per spin. Wilds Grab Claws only appear on this scroll but when they appear, the grabber will reel up a multiplier for each one of 1,2,3,4 or 5x, giving a theoretical maximum multiplier of 3125x for all four Wilds. You also get an increasing multiplier of 1x for each winning tumble in the base game.
Symbols appear stacked an single, you pay 20-coins and the 6-of-a-kinds are 50x bet Purple Hippo, 20x Flying Dragon, 2.5x Panda or Monkey, 1.5x Lion or Tortoise, 1x Horse or Rhino and finally 0.5x the Fish or Duck. The scatter are Pink Elephants which for some reason twerk at you when they appear and that can be seen on all reels, with 1x bet for 2, 5x for 3, 10x for 4, 15x for 5 and finally 20x for all 6.
You need 3 or more Pink Elephants to trigger 9 free games, with +3 spins for each scatter in excess of the 3 necessary. In the free games, any Elephant landing will add +2 spins to your total remaining. You get the usual increasing multiplier for each winning cascade which doesn't now reset between spins and the Wilds still appear with multipliers on the top reel. Scatter pays aren't multiplied though. We are told in excess of 20,000x bet is possible here.
Fluffy Favourites Megaways slot has a low RTP for this mechanic of only 95.00%. I don't think it's necessary to reiterate my opinions regarding the symbols, graphics and animations here as I have now passed my sixth birthday. That said, it's easier to trigger the feature here than most Megaways slots and you get some decent base game hits. I will say though that I suspect the demo version I tried was paying at well over 100% as it seemed I couldn't lose and was getting a feature at least once for each 100 auto-play spins, and these averaged out at around 60x each. If you like this sort of theme and play in your primary school lunch break then it's the game for you. Otherwise, I never want to see a cuddly toy again...
