Many things could be considered a girl's best friend: an evening of Strictly Come Dancing, a night on the town with the girls, a massive bar of milk chocolate, but perhaps the bestest BFF of most girls is a big, fat diamond. At least it is if Gamesys's latest slot is anything to go by.
On the Reels...
Very much an old-style classic slot at first glance, the interface on A Girl's Best Friend (Note to Gamesys: "girls" has an apostrophe) looks like an old one-armed bandit. There are pastel pinks and purples everywhere and the symbols/payouts are neatly displayed at the top of the slot.
Win 2,000 Coins!
Winning lines pay out for two or more symbols in a row, but here's the problem: the game has only 5 pay-lines. But just when you think you've hit that lovely five-in-a-row paying 2,000 coins you realize it's on payline 6, 7 or 8.
No Wilds... No Scatters...?
The Wild in the game is the....actually, there is no Wild, not substituting for all regular symbols or Scatters. The Scatter, meanwhile, is, er, nothing. There is no Scatter, not paying anywhere on the reels and not triggering any bonus feature when you hit three or more in a winning combination.
This is Old School!
So why recommend A Girl's Best Friend? Well, it does offer some very old-school delights.
After all, not everyone is into 5 bonus games with multi-layered games. In fact, not all slots players are after 25-30 paylines, either; they just want a simple 5 pay-line game they can load up and let rip. For us, however, we want a little more for our money.
