Queen of WInter Wins is a very basic game and has mechanics similar to Netent's Jack Hammer. This means that all 15 positions are actually separate spinning reels - meaning you can get 1, 2 or 3 identical symbols on any vertical row. Any wins that land will freeze in place and any positions not involved in the winning line(s) will respin until no further additional combinations occur, or all 15 positions are involved in a win.
There are Ice Crystal Wilds on all reels and these too will freeze in position. There are no scatters as you don't, unlike the Jack Hammer games, get any free games. The only enhancement is that when a whole vertical row becomes frozen, one of the 3 frozen icons becomes Wild and sticky until no more wins occur. If there's already a Wild on that vertical row then a different position will be chosen. This means a higher likelihood of getting more addition winning pays added. Your highest-paying 5-of-a-kind is the Ice Queen at 20x stake down to the lowest card symbol at 1.2x stake. This means the best potential pay is 500x stake for a full grid of Wilds and/or Ice Queens.
Our View...
Queen of Winter Wins slot is excellent graphically and the sound effects pleasant. This 'freezing wins and respins' formula is known to be popular but I still don't feel, despite a good RTP of 95.06%, that alone is enough to recommend this game. Volatility is awfully low and although you will inevitably get a good run for your balance it won't light any fires within you due to the lack of a bonus round. For me the Ice Queen will forever remain frozen out of my gaming...
