Royal Spins slot is a significant departure from IGT's usual multi-line or multiway games which will also have quite detailed bonus rounds on them, such as the fishing-themed Lobstermania or the Egyptian-inspired Cleopatra Plus. Instantly you can sense the high volatility when you see that we only get 5 pay lines here, very unusual for any IGT 5-reeler game although we are given both way pays so wins pay right-to-left too. The icons are all single although they can appear twice in view on one reel; as you would expect the 5-of-a-kind pays are high as is befitting of a slot with so few lines. Personal progressive
The Cherries may be the lowest-paying icon, but we do have a function for them. During play the game has an internal progressive jackpot which is fed by one coin for every Red 7 that appears on any pay line on which a wins lands. So say we get 3 oranges and a single 7 on a line, you are paid for the 3 Oranges and 1 coin (or 0.2x bet) goes into your progressive meter. Should the win consist of say three 7's, you get the win paid then 3 coins for the three 7's twice as the game will count 7's wins both ways. Crown spins
You can trigger 3, 7 or 10 free games by landing 3, 4 or 5 Crowns on any 3 or more consecutive reels. Your only enhancement is that Crowns pay scattered for any amount and you get 1x bet for any spin a Crown doesn't appear in, 2x bet if one appears up to 200x if you see 5 land anywhere in view. Royal Spins slot is not for the timid player due to the high volatility although reel wins are more common than perhaps one may expect. The graphics are basic and the RTP is nothing exceptional at 91.88-96.03%, the large range possibly due to you contributing to your own jackpot. Therein lies the first issue, you are committed to retrieving this pot and thus feel obliged to play longer than usual. The second negative is the speed of the bonus round, 3 spins goes very fast and the rewards are seldom in double figures times bet. The 5-reel Cherries wins are rare though so you could accrue some significant cash in the pot before it's released.
