The Price is Right slot by IGT is actually the second version they have created of this famous TV quiz show-based themed game and it appears at first sight they have made quite a decent fist of it. The reels are surrounded by bulbs as if they were a studio set and naturally you get the verbal soundbites and applause to finish the atmosphere off. IGT do these game show themes quite well with Jeopardy! and The 100,000 Pyramid previously doing well for them along with numerous versions of the Wheel of Fortune series such as the Hollywood Edition. So will the price be worth paying for our bankroll here or will it be a case of it having to come on down?
On The Reels...
So 25 lines on a standard 5x3 grid is where we begin on The Price is Right slot with single symbols and the Wild Flower being the best pay at 40x bet for a 5-of-a-kind win, followed by Car 20x, Jet Ski 10x, Bicycles 8x and five card values from 6 down to 2x. Bonus Wheel scatters are present on the odd reels 1,3 and 5 and with only one random modifier we have a pretty straightforward slot, even when it comes to the feature.
Punch A Bunch
At the start of a spin you might see a picture of 11 flowers. They will be covering multipliers of 2 to 20x and you reveal one, and can decide to take it or choose again, 3 chances. The multiplier you end up with will be applied to the winning spin you were about to get then it triggered.
Bonus Wheel
When the 3 scatters are in, a Wheel spins and you'll get one of the following -
Cash Award - from 25 to 1000x stake.
Plinko - 3 flower chips are shown, and you reveal their multipliers which will be 1 or 2x, 2 or 3x and 3 or 5x. You then drop them down the Plinko board to see what coin values they and in and receive the final total.
Cliff Hanger - the Yodel Guy walks up a cliff reaching multipliers and you get at least a free game each time he stops on the scale which goes from 2 to 25x. The feature ends when he reaches the 25x, and each spin there's no guarantee a win will come in to be multiplied!
Our View...
The Price is Right slot is quite entertaining and not too hard to trigger features on, with indeed some potential as we saw by the 1000x available on the Wheel. The RTP of 92.89% to 96.25% is par for IGT and you get really realistic sounds and audience effects as well as some good graphic sequences. The free games may be over quickly as the Yodeller has a habit of taking a lot of steps at once heading up the multiplier cliff so you don't get many free spins, but the Plinko usually delivers a reasonable sum. The price doesn't seem to high to give this slot a decent go...
