Vegas High Roller slot by iSoftBet brings us an old, tried and tested theme centred around the glitz and glamour of this famous Nevada gambling town and its equally famous sign. The game is pretty simple with plain royal blue reels spinning over a Vegas backdrop and some funky 1970's TV style music as you spin alongside the sound of cascading chips when wins appear and fireworks when bigger wins occur. I don't know yet how Vegas High Roller will compare to the numerous other games sharing the theme, like Pragmatic's Vegas Nights, IGT's Vegas Baby! or Betsoft's old classic Mr Vegas but wherever there's gambling, there's a house edge ready to take your bankroll!
You have 10 fixed paying lines on Vegas High Roller over 5 reels of 3 rows each. The symbols are what you'd expect here with 200x bet for the Red 7's, 100x Roulette Wheels, 50x Blackjack or Dice and 10x for the four card suits if you land 5-of-a-kind. Vegas signs appear as scatters and you need 3 or more for the free games, but be aware there's no Wilds on this slot at all. The icons appear singly for low symbols but can appear stacked for the top ones and there is one random modifier available. This will be a single spin in which only cash chips appear on the grid.
Three or more logo scatters trigger 7 free games but you lose the base game symbols and get 15 individual reels on which chips can land with cash amounts of 1 to 25x bet. No retriggers but some reasonable totals are usually attained and they aren't hard to trigger it seems.
If you choose to play at 20 coins per line instead of 1, you play High Roller mode. Only chips can appear on the grid and these range from 0.5x bet to 50x which are paid as you go, but you also pay the High Roller bet every spin too! If you keep spinning until all 15 positions have had a chip and turned red, then you get to the super respin mode where you each chip holds in view and starts the 3 respins afresh. Once you've had 3 dead spins, you get the chips cashed in.
Vegas High Roller slot is quite odd in mechanic but seems to be reasonably entertaining and does have a theoretical win of 2000x bet on the base game reels for a full screen of 7's. The RTP is average at 96% and so are the graphics and animations given that the slot uses some quite old and tired symbols. The free games are OK though but I'm not sure I'd play the 20x High Roller mode just to get 3 Super Respins eventually. Vegas High Roller is worth a visit, but only if you do anything except high roll....
