Double Stacks slot is a strange combination of retro and modern that has a very simple mechanic. Three or more scatters imaginatively named 'scatter' in view will trigger no pays but 5, 15 or 30 free spins for 3, 4 or 5 respectively. They can retrigger with the addition that just 2 scatters will award 2 extra spins. As said above when I gave the game away, the enhancement here is that now the Wild appears stacked too and as with the top 4 icons will split to a double if landing fully in view, hence the 9-of-a-kind possibility on wins now.
The maximum win for a full screen depends on your bet of course, but above the reels the pays possible for a screen full of the 4 top symbols are displayed and change with your stake. Diamonds is 1000x bet and this is where I guess the underlying maths model is very similar to that of Joker Pro.
Double Stacks slot is really a variation of the Joker Pro model but visually a little more entertaining and with a higher win frequency. I'd say it's better in some ways due to the fact we get a free spins bonus which can provide some beefy wins when the Wilds appear but other than that it is what it is - a low tech game of low to medium in variance. The RTP is a pretty average 96.10% and the design along with the theme results in limited effects and animations but that's not really what the game is about. Would I return to Double Stacks in double quick time? Quite possibly...
