Joker Pro slot review

joker pro slot main gameJoker Pro is not your normal NetEnt slot, taking a more traditional slot machine theme. Those of you familiar with Novomatic games like Power Stars will already be familiar with the stacked fruits and jewels type of game. These games have fewer paylines but make up for that with stacked symbols to allow multiple win lines simultaneously.

Less paylines than your average NetEnt slot
This game has 10 paylines and no bonus round as such, but one in-play feature. Your highest-paying symbol the diamonds pays 20x stake for 5-of-a-kind (5OAK) and the lowest clover pays 4x stake for 5OAK. The joker naturally is the Wild symbol appearing on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Joker respin feature
Should you get one or more Wild to appear anywhere, the 'joker respin' is activated. When this happens the end reels 1 and 5 turn Wild and become sticky and the centre positions of reels 2, 3 and 4 become illuminated with boxes. If you imagine the free games in Microgaming's 'Bust The Bank' which awards free spins with those reels wild, this has the same set-up.

The triggering joker stays as a sticky Wild and reels respin. If you land another joker, the win is paid and you get another respin, this time with both the jokers as sticky Wilds and so-on. The wins accumulate and the maximum win is capped at 1000x stake. To achieve this you need to fill the 3 illuminated boxed reels with jokers. This will then stop the feature.

Our View...
You have a decent Return To Player of 96.8% for this slot, as is typical with most Netent games. I have to say after 15 minutes of playing this game, the joker was on me! The variance is quite low and although the respins drop quite regularly, rarely do they pay anything of note. I hope that after the recent release of the execrable 'Secrets Of Atlantis' and this quite unfunny Joker slot, Netent haven't embarked upon a mission to bring more featureless and low-tech games into their otherwise decent portfolio.
