Hell’s Kitchen slot review
Hell's Kitchen slot by Netent is based on the TV series from that culinary master of profanity, Gordon Ramsay. The reels have a lot of heating elements and fire on them to give an overall hot appearance to fit the theme and we have dramatic music from the show too. Naturally Gordon himself interjects with some aggressive soundbites but alas these lack the expletives which is a shame really. Cooking-based slots have been surprisingly few and far between in the past considering the popularity of the theme. Microgaming gave us the mediocre Big Chef slot while iSoftBet fed us a good game in Royale With Cheese Megaways slot or the final foodie game worth a mention might be Play'n Go's barbecued Sizzling Spins slot. So can our bankroll survive this Ramsay tirade or will it be well and truly cooked?
On the reels...
We have 20 lines over 5 reels of 4-rows here on Hell's Kitchen slot with single symbols. The Ham is the best 5-of-a-kind at 10x as is the HK Wild, Burger 4x, Drink 3x, Dessert 2.5x with four card values of 1.5 down to 0.75x for a full line. Gordon Ramsay flaming scatters appear on all reels bar the middle one and you may get the reels catch fire during any spin, when Gordon will throw 5-7 knives on to the reels which turn those positions Wild. That's it for the base game.
You will get 10 or 15 'Team Challenge' free spins for 3 or 4 Gordon scatters respectively. You pick either red or blue team and then get presented with 2 slots in red and blue. You will get no extra spins or retriggers and you win the aggregate total from both slots regardless of the one you pick.
Order Up Feature - To help you along, each spin plates will scroll by with 1, 2 or 3 of these: 3 to 8 extra Wilds anywhere, food symbols and 2x or 3x multipliers, all in one of the two team colours. Getting wins on that colour slot will activate these enhancements, the 2x and 3x are added if you use both in one spin.
If your chosen team's slot wins by getting more in the win bank than the other, you go to a pick-me screen which offers picks revealing either 2 to 5x bet cash prizes or a 2 or 3x round multiplier for everything you won in the spins. When you've picked 3 blanks, the round ends.
Hell's Kitchen slot has a 96.06% RTP but can be slashed down to as little as 90% if your casino requests that model, so always check! I like the appearance, the graphics plus the sounds and animations. The base game plays reasonably with the best wins coming from the random Wilds via Gordon's knives. Alas, the same cannot be said for the bonus which is good to look at but has very little potential and excitement. In testing, the game never got to 1250x bet in 300bn spins. This kitchen may look as hot as hell, but it serves up cold food...
