Book of Ra Deluxe 10 slot review
Book of Ra Deluxe 10 slot by Novomatic is, in my opinion, a pretty pointless addition to this classic theme and the big range of games we have already. You'll see why shortly, but in the meantime we have some spooky Egyptian music playing and the typical wheedle-and-trot sounds as the reels spin and stop. The artwork is better than it was with Book of Ra the original game and both the Book of Ra Deluxe 6 and Book of Ra Magic versions with a great sunset view of the pyramids behind the reels. You'll be familiar probably with the symbols here, but will 10 reels mean twice the usual cost here for our bankroll?
On The Reels...
We get an arrangement fist seen on Colossal Reels slots from WMS like KISS. That means a first reel set of 5 reels and 4 rows and a right-hand set of 5 reels of 12 rows each. This naturally means lower symbol pays and the Explorer is now a measly 5x bet for 5-of-a-kind, 4x Gold Mask, 2x Scarab and Ra with five card values all paying 1x for a full line of 5. The symbols are now stacked too and you get Wild coins which if they land fully-stacked on all 4 rows of any reel on the left grid, they transfer also to fill the same reel on the Colossal Grid. You can also get random Wild reels added to the left hand grid.
Your lines are 25 on the smaller grid and 75 on the Colossal one making 100 in total for which you pay 20 coins. Scatters, still the familiar Books, can appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 on both sets and you can get 3 anywhere to trigger our bonus.
You get 8 spins for 3 scatters, 12 for 4 and 20 for 5 or 6. You can retrigger them and you get a random expanding symbol selected from the Book as with all the Book of Ra slots. This expands and pays scattered on the first grid as long as there are enough in view to trigger a win, i.e. 2 for the top 4 symbols if one is selected, 3 for the 5 card values if one of those is. You can get retriggers and any winning expanded reels will also transfer to the Colossal grid to add more winning lines of them. The maximum pay is far lower than the Deluxe version - a full screen of Explorer or Wilds on both grids only pays 500x bet, as opposed to maximum pay of 5,000x on the Deluxe game.
Book of Ra Deluxe 10 slot is pretty dire as it lacks the excitement, volatility and potential of the previous editions even though it retains the theme character in full. It's just a pointless copy of the WMS Colossal Reels games which also have low winning potential. I think Novomatic could have worked the maths for a much bigger potential here to make the game stand out from the rest, but it just doesn't. The RTP is the same old at 95.02% and frankly if this is where our favourite explorer is heading, he can go there without me...Review by Gamingslots
