We have a cluster pay format here on the 7x7 grid of Bermuda Riches slot where we are paid for 5+ adjacent tiles and winning ones are replaced via tumbles. You have 7 basic symbols which form the pays, 3 high and 4 low. The high ones for maximum 15+ clusters and the lowest of 5 pay thus: Ring 150/1x bet, Goblet 100/0.5x, Telescope 90/0.5x, Spade 80/0.4x, Heart 60/0.3x, Club 40/0.25x and finally Diamond 20/0.2x. You get John Hunter scatters anywhere and Gold Idol Wilds anywhere too. The final one is a Money Symbol which needs one of the collector symbols to land in the same spin in order to activate.
Money Collect
A Chest full of gold coins will offer up a preset value of 2-100x bet. Any Chests will only pay if one of the Collector boxes lands too and there are 4 types:
Wood - collects the Chest values
Gold - has its own value to add to the other Chests
Purple - this will offer up a multiplier which will apply to the total value of your Chests in view
Green - extra drop collect which will drop in more Chests to add to your win before paying you
Cursed Wild - not a collector but when it lands it will either multiply all wins using it by 2x OR add random Wilds to the grid.
Free Spins
You need to gather up 3+ John Hunter scatters to initiate 12 free games. If you land 7+ you get 100x or 3-20x for 3-6 of them. You get +5 spins for 3+ in the bonus too. The bonus is the same as the base game but this time all Chest symbols landing are added to a Bonus Pot too. After the round ends, a wheel with 7 losing and 3 winning segments is spun, if you win you earn the Money Pot total on top of your winnings. Our View...
John Hunter and The Quest for Bermuda Riches slot has a RTP of 96.40% which is the same for both normal play and bonus buys so no issues there. The animations are a little basic but the overall appearance, graphics and sounds are good and don't tire you out. It can throw the odd big win in unexpectedly in the base game via the Chests which is good as the standard symbols don't seem to produce much here. The bonus is fun though as you seem to get far more collect symbols to assist you in hauling the treasure from those Chests back to your bankroll and again, this is where most of the value lies as opposed to the normal symbols. The wheel is frustrating as it seems quite rare to win on it despite a 30% chance apparently! I'd say this island is not too bad for a slot player's holiday destination...
